Police said the car is believed to be the same one that went into the river on Jan. 8 and is associated with a missing person case out of Stockton.

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A car associated with a missing person out of Stockton was pulled from the Sacramento River, just north of the Barn, Sunday.

According to West Sacramento Police Department, a man’s body was inside the car. Police said it’s believed to be the same car that went into the river on Jan. 8.

Police said surveillance footage in the area shows the car driving up to the drop off at the waters edge and stopping for about 15 seconds before rolling into the water.

At the time, it was too dark to tell if anyone walked away from the car, and it appeared to be intentional, according to police.

The coroner is working to identify the man inside the car and is also working with Stockton Police Department to confirm and notify next of kin.
