TULIA, Texas (KVII) — An elderly woman and her son were found dead inside a Tulia home after a fire.
A family member told ABC 7 News the victims are 80-year-old Ofelia Garcia, and her son, 54-year-old Alfredo Garcia, Jr.
According to the Tulia Police Department, the fire started around 8:50 p.m. Saturday at 222 NW 4th Street.
The Tulia Volunteer Fire Department arrived within minutes, but the house was already engulfed in flames.
Witnesses told police that two people were in the house.
Crews from Tulia, Happy and Silverton battled the blaze through the night.
About 10 a.m. Sunday, firefighters from Tulia and Canyon found the bodies of two people in the home.
Police said they do not suspect foul play.
