CCPD confirms officer involved shooting

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Police Department Public Information Officer Antonio Contreras told 3NEWS on Friday afternoon that an officer involved shooting took place on Port Avenue and Agnes Street. 

Contreras said this shooting is tied to an earlier shooting on McCardle Road that left one dead. The victim of that shooting suffered multiple gun shot wounds and was taken to Spohn Shoreline, where they died. 

Contreras said CCPD Chief of Police Mike Markle is preparing to give a statement.
