FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A man is in life-threatening condition after a car hit him while on Coliseum Boulevard overnight, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.
The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday on Coliseum Boulevard, just east of the Hillegas Road intersection.
When police arrived on scene, they found the man awake and conscious, laying on the pavement. Medics took the man to the hospital in life-threatening condition.
The driver involved was not hurt and is cooperating with the police investigation. Police do not believe speeding or alcohol led to the crash.
The Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team took over the investigation. Police said that’s because of how severely injured the pedestrian was. The FWPD’s Air Support Unit was also called to help document the scene from the skies.
Police did not say why the man was in the road at the time of the crash.
