NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk Police are investigating an undetermined death after an unresponsive person was found in the water on Tuesday afternoon near Norfolk International Airport.

According to police, officers responded to the 5900 block of International Airport Road around 1:25 p.m. on Jan. 14 for a reported water rescue. When officers arrived, they found an individual unresponsive in the water.

Police said the death is being investigated as undetermined. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official manner and cause of death.

The body has not been publicly identified at this time, and no additional details have been released.
