SAN ANTONIO —Authorities are investigating after a man’s body was recovered from a burning vehicle on the city’s South Side.

Officers were called around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 400 block of Moursund near East Gillette Boulevard for a vehicle fire.

Police said when they arrived the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Witnesses reported seeing someone inside the vehicle while it was burning.

The San Antonio Fire Department confirmed they recovered one victim from the vehicle after the fire was extinguished.

Officers on scene said the victim is believed to be a male in his 60s that may be family related to the location.

Investigators are on scene working to determine what caused the vehicle to catch fire. The Bexar County Medical Examiner was also called to the scene.
