Boston police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting in which the suspect crashed his getaway car, prompting him to flee on foot.

Tyrone Williams, 45, was arrested on Friday morning in Dorchester, according to police.

On Monday, police received a report of a person shot on Brook Avenue in Dorchester. At the scene, they found a 40-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening.

Police determined the shooter had left the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived, and that he was involved in a crash at the intersection of Folsom Street and Harlow Street, just two-tenths of a mile away. The suspect then fled on foot, according to police.

The ensuing investigation led police to arrest Williams, a Manchester, New Hampshire resident. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on multiple charges, including of assault and battery with firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage.
