BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – The driver of an internet service vehicle was killed in a crash Thursday in Blacksburg, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

About 9:15 a.m, January 8, 2026, the Sheriff’s Office, Blacksburg PD and Blacksburg Rescue responded to the 3600 block of Indian Meadow Drive.

Police say the driver had run off the road and hit a tree, and was killed.

The crash is under investigation to determine the cause. The driver’s name has not been released.
