3 injured in fight turned shooting at Jacksonville Westside bar, officers said

Officials explained the fight started inside the restaurant when the suspect shooter fought a security guard before pulling out a gun and started shooting.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three people are recovering from injuries following a fight that escalated into a shooting at a restaurant located on Jacksonville’s Westside, officers said.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced at a news conference that this happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday at Tipsy Bar And Grill when a woman and two men were shot by multiple rounds. One of the men shot was reportedly a security guard working at the restaurant.

Officials explained the fight started inside the restaurant when the suspect shooter fought the security guard before pulling out a gun and started shooting.

Another security guard tackled the suspect to the ground and held him until officers arrived, JSO said.

The gunman was taken into custody.

The three who were shot are at a hospital receiving treatment. JSO said they are stable and expected to recover.

The suspected shooter and the three who were shot are all reportedly in their 20s.

Officers are reviewing surveillance video and speaking to witnesses to learn more about what led up to the shooting. They believe this is an isolated incident.
