Multiple people injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Green Lake County

GREEN LAKE COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – Early Tuesday morning, several people were injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Green Lake County.

Just after 5 a.m., numerous emergency crews responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of CTH AW and STH 73.

A westbound garbage truck drove through the intersection, striking a van that was on STH 73.

The van was driving in the southbound lane of STH 73 and struck the pickup truck.

The operator and sole occupant of the van was transported by EMS with critical injuries.

The operator and sole occupant of the pickup was transported and released from the hospital later the same day.

The operator of the garbage truck was uninjured.

The intersection was closed for nearly five hours.

The accident remains under investigation by the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Patrol.

Southern Green Lake County Ambulance, Berlin EMS, Markesan Fire Department, Markesan Emergency Management, Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin State Patrol were all involved.
