ATLANTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Five people were injured after an elderly woman crashed into a QuikTrip on Saturday night in Georgia, according to authorities.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. at the QuikTrip located along Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn.
1 dead after single-car crash in Aiken
A fatal car crash has claimed the life of a 46-year-old man in Aiken.
The Aiken County Coroner’s Office responded to a vehicle traffic accident call at 2 a.m. off of Good Springs Road near Confederate Road.
Police told Atlanta News First that five people were injured, including two children, ages 3 and 9, and three adults. The two children were taken to the hospital, along with one adult.
“Just the glass, scratches from the glass, and somebody actually got hit with the car,” said Officer Veronica Arnold with the Lilburn Police Department. “They were coming out of the door, and he got hit with it, but again, bruises and soreness from the fall.”
Police said the driver was a woman around the age of 70, and they do not believe she was impaired.
No charges have been filed at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
