Police say officers charged a woman with misdemeanor death by vehicle in the crash.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man died in a late-night crash on I-785 South near Clapp Farms Road, and a woman has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, according to Greensboro police.

Police said officers responded to the crash around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. Investigators say a Kia Optima driven by 49-year-old Arnold Dzorgbadzor of Greensboro was stopped in the travel lanes when it was hit from behind by a Ford Bronco driven by 30-year-old Samantha Winfree of Greensboro.

Dzorgbadzor died at the scene from his injuries, police said. Winfree suffered serious injuries and has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and failure to reduce speed.

According to Greensboro police, impairment and excessive speed do not appear to be factors in the crash. The department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation.
