MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Dureico McKinnie, 36, wanted in an Oct. 26, 2025, shooting that injured two people outside the Family Fun Center in Jackson, Tennessee, was captured Dec. 15 in Inglewood, California, the U.S. Marshals Service said Tuesday.
The USMS Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force located McKinnie inside a residence in Inglewood, officials said.
McKinnie is charged with attempted second-degree murder, reckless endangerment and using a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony. He is to appear before a California judge before being returned to Tennessee to face the charges.
“Justice has no borders,” said Tyreece Miller, U.S. marshal for the Western District of Tennessee. “We commend Jackson police for their quick work in identifying the shooter and will work with our partners to vigorously pursue violent fugitives no matter where they think they’re safe from capture.”
