CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on U.S. 41, near Elkham Boulevard, troopers said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 1:45 a.m. on Dec. 14, a motorcycle was traveling northbound on U.S. 41 at a high rate of speed as it approached Elkham Boulevard. A car traveling southbound on U.S. 41 attempted to turn left onto Elkham Boulevard and turned in front of the motorcycle.

The front of the motorcycle struck the side of the car.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital— and was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car reported minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
