WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) – A shooting in Waterbury at the end of November led to the arrest of a woman.
Jessica Towels, 39, of Meriden, was identified as the shooter, police announced on Thursday.
The incident happened on Nov. 29 around 1:45 a.m. on Grand Street.
Officers said they happened to be in the area when they heard shots.
A 39-year-old male victim later checked into a local hospital with gunshot wounds, they said.
The wounds were in his arm and abdomen. They were determined to be non-life-threatening injuries.
“This has been determined to be an isolated incident between two small groups of individuals resulting in one victim,” police said in their report. “This is an active, open investigation being handled by detectives.”
Towels was charged with criminal attempt at first-degree assault, illegal discharge of a firearm, criminal use of a weapon, negligent storage of a firearm, third-degree criminal mischief, first-degree reckless endangerment, and possession of a controlled substance.
She posted her $300,000 bond and was given a court date of Dec. 12.
Police said they continue to investigate the incident.
