DIXMONT, Maine — The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a “serious” crash Friday evening after a U-Haul truck was found off of Route 9 in Dixmont.
The sheriff’s office said in a social media post it received reports of a crash around 7:10 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies found a U-Haul rental towing an enclosed trailer off the road.
The truck had struck several rocks before striking a utility pole, according to the sheriff’s office. Both occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital for injuries.
A lane on Route 9 was shut down during the investigation, which remains active.
