Pair found passed out in vehicle, arrested in connection with meth charges

JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals Sunday after finding them passed out in a vehicle.

Sheriff Tim Morse reports that the office received a report of a person slumped over the wheel of a Ford Edge just before 6 p.m. in the intersection of 118th and U.S. Highway 75.

The reporting party attempted to awaken the person using his vehicle horn.

Upon arrival, deputies found the driver and passenger both asleep in the vehicle. One deputy reported what allegedly appeared to be a methamphetamine pipe in the driver’s hand.

Both the driver and passenger were arrested.

The driver, 36-year-old Lloyd Allan Wabaunsee, of Mayetta, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail in connection with the following charges:

  • possession of methamphetamine
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • unlawful possession of controlled substances
  • unlawful possession of a hallucinogenic drug
  • unlawful distribution of controlled substances
  • driving under the influence
  • possession of a weapon by a felon
  • criminal possession of a weapon
  • no drug tax stamp

The passenger, 44-year-old Raven Marie Barber, also of Mayetta, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail in connection with the following charges:

  • possession of methamphetamine
  • possession of drug paraphernalia
  • possession of a hallucinogenic drug
  • distribution of controlled substances
  • possession of a weapon by a convicted felon
  • criminal use of a weapon
  • no drug tax stamp
