Deputies Respond to Early-Morning Gunfire as Violent Crimes Unit Leads Active Investigation

GREENACRES, Fla. — A report of gunfire early Tuesday morning led deputies to a double homicide in a residential neighborhood of Greenacres, where two women were fatally shot and later pronounced dead, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched shortly after 7 a.m. to the 500 block of Shady Pine Way following a call reporting shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies found one adult woman deceased at the scene and a second woman suffering from gunshot wounds. The injured woman was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries, authorities said.

Investigators said the suspected shooter retreated into a nearby residence following the shooting. Deputies attempted to make contact and requested that the individual exit the home, but received no response. As a precaution, the PBSO SWAT Team was deployed to assess the situation.

During that assessment, authorities determined the suspect was no longer a threat, and officials emphasized that there is no danger to the community at this time.

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division are executing a residential search warrant and continue to process the scene. Investigators have not yet released details regarding the relationship between the victims and the suspect, nor have they disclosed a motive.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
