Bridgewater police arrested a 38-year-old man on weapons and drugs charges after finding a dead body and a stash of weapons in a home on Wednesday.

Officers were called to the home on Route 22 after getting a report of a shooting, police said. While police said there was no evidence of a shooting, officers located a dead man with no signs of trauma and gun in plain view.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for a bedroom and found guns, ammunition, edged weapons, and suspected drugs.

Police arrested Lance Chillemi and charged him with seven weapons offenses and three drug offenses.

He was taken to the Somerset County jail ahead of a court appearance.

Police did not identify the dead man.

An attorney for Chillemi is not listed in court records.
