A Lillington woman and her mother were arrested
after a deadly crash in southern Harnett County.
Troopers said Goldie Marsh, 40, and Sharon Marsh,
67, were arrested on Sunday after a man died in a crash on Saturday.
According to arrest warrants, Goldie Marsh is
accused of driving while impaired. Warrants say Marsh ran off the road to the
left and hit a culvert. Her passenger, Timothy McLean, died.
Troopers said Marsh jumped from the car and ran.
Warrants say she was picked up by Sharon Marsh, who “misled officers with a
statement about who was driving her vehicle.” Troopers said it was done in
“secrecy and malice.”
Warrants also say troopers found drug
paraphernalia.
Goldie faces several charges, including:
- Hit-and-run causing serious injury/death
- Driving with a revoked license
- Reckless driving-wanton disregard
- Failure to report an accident
- Possessing drug paraphernalia
- Failure to wear a seatbelt
She is being held without bond and is expected in
court on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 9 a.m.
Sharon also faces several charges, including
obstructing justice, aiding and abetting someone while driving with a revoked
and resisting a public officer.
