MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A suspect in a deadly shooting in Chester County, S.C. from 2024 was apprehended in Mooresville on Sunday, Jan. 17, according to Chester County Sheriff’s Office. 

Carlton Wallace Dixon, 45, is accused of murder in the death of 29-year-old Elijahwan D. Boulware, along with possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes. 

Boulware was shot and killed at the Ramsey Grove Apartments in Chester on June 17, 2024. Boulware was taken to the hospital but attempts to save his life were not successful. 

Local authorities and the FBI launched a nationwide manhunt in search of Dixon and even offered a $15,000 reward for information on his whereabouts over a year later in October 2025.  

Dixon is to be extradited from Iredell County custody to face charges in Chester County.
