One killed, one injured in Grant Co. crash

GRANT COUNTY, Wis. (KCRG) – One person died and another is injured after a crash on Highway 151 in Grant County Tuesday.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 11 in Jamestown Township around 2:54 p.m.

Police say a 76-year-old man was heading south on Highway 151, just south of the Highway 11 overpass.

According to authorities, the vehicle left the road, traveled through a ditch and hit a highway sign.

Police say it then went up a steep embankment into a wooded area about 40 yards from the highway. At the top, the vehicle rolled down into a ravine where it came to rest.

Both the driver and front seat passenger were injured and taken to the hospital. The passenger, identified as 80-year-old Barbara Robey, of East Dubuque, Illinois, later died from her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
