Pedestrian hit, killed in San Rafael – NBC Bay Area

A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in San Rafael on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported shortly before 8:40 a.m. at the intersection of Point San Pedro Road and Summit Avenue.

The pedestrian, a female, was struck in or around a crosswalk at the intersection, CHP Officer Arthur Tellez said. Her name is not immediately being released.

A lane of Point San Pedro Road remained closed late Wednesday morning for the investigation into the collision. The male driver who struck the pedestrian was not arrested, Tellez said.
