“We heard several gunshots and then a car sped off. This is not common here,” said one neighbor.
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — On Tuesday afternoon, the intersection in an unincorporated north St. Louis County subdivision was normal with drivers were on the go.
“We’ve been here a year and it’s been nothing but good. It’s quiet,” said Jennie Kimbrough.
However, just after ten Monday night gunshots rattled the peace Kimbrough and her husband are used to hearing in their neighborhood.
“I’ve never seen no activities over there, nothing. It hits different when it’s right across the street or when it’s close to home,” added Kimbrough.
Neighbors say they heard at least four gunshots.
They say St. Louis County police arrived and put crime scene tape around a home in the 3700 block of Av de Paris Drive.
Police now confirm 36-year-old Shana Shack lived and worked there.
They say she suffered “at least one gunshot” wound.
5 On Your Side saw two bullet holes in a second floor window.
No one was at the home when a 5 On Your Side crew was in the area.
Neighbors say after the shooting they heard the sounds of screeching tires and a car speeding off.
Right now, St. Louis County police have not told us anything about a possible suspect.
“After checking our security cameras, we were unable to detect anything,” added Kimbrough.
“It is very, very hard. It is a murder mystery,” said neighbor Joyce Meyer.
One neighbors hope detectives will soon solve.
“If somebody could find out who did this to these people, especially so close to home, because now we’re worried about our family over here. Yeah, we hope they definitely find them,” said Devlon Kimbrough.
We know this is the this deadly shooting in unincorporated St. Louis County so far this year.
