A woman reported missing from Bristol was found dead in a wooded area in New Britain last month.
Kelli Ann Robbins, 40, was reported missing on Nov. 1 after last being seen at a commuter bus stop in Hartford on Oct. 17, according to a statement from the Bristol Police Department.
In the statement , police described Robbins as “very thin” and asked the public for help finding her.
According to a spokesperson for the New Britain Mayor’s Office, officers responded to a wooded area alongside a set of train tracks near Myrtle Street and Grove Street on Dec. 13 around 4 p.m. to investigate a “suspicious circumstances complaint.”
Dispatchers were told a person walking in the area found someone on the ground near a fence line.
Police who responded found a dead person who was identified as Robbins by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to the mayor’s spokesperson.
Officers did not find any “potential signs of trauma during their initial investigation,” the spokesperson said.
According to the medical examiner’s office, the circumstances surrounding Robbins’ death and the results of an autopsy remain “pending further investigation.”
Police are still investigating as well.
