MCKINNEY, Texas — Two people were found dead inside a McKinney home on Sunday morning, and police responding to the scene shot a man who was found armed with a gun, officials said.
Police responded to a welfare check shortly before 10 a.m. to a home in the 5300 block of Dunster Drive, where family members had reported not hearing from the residents for several days, according to a police news release.
Officers entered the home through a back door and found “two adult homicide victims” in the living room, the release said. The victims were identified as Leonard Ragan, 73, and Jackie Ragan, 72, according to the release.
As police cleared the home, they found a 34-year-old man, Bryce Ragan, in a bedroom, armed with a gun, the release said.
Two police officers fired shots at Ragan, striking him multiple times, according to the release. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. More details on his condition were not released.
No officers were injured in the incident.
