The Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating after a man’s body was found on Monday afternoon, as reported by Fox 8. A call was received at approximately 3:15 p.m. from a citizen who encountered the body on a property southwest of Bellevue. Following the call, the sheriff’s office confirmed the discovery of the deceased male.

Officials have yet to positively identify the individual and have decided to quickly send the body to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for both an autopsy and identification. As mentioned in the CLEVELAND 19 News report, further details regarding this case will be released once they are appropriately gathered and verified by the authorities.

Details about the deceased, such as age or possible causes of death, have not been disclosed. The Sandusky County Coroner’s Office, along with sheriff’s deputies, was on the scene shortly after the initial discovery, affirming the presence of the body, according to coverage by WTOL.

Community members are encouraged to forward any information they may have, as the case depends heavily on piecing together the chain of events leading to the find. In the meantime, the identity of the discovered man remains a mystery, leaving a gap that local authorities are determined to methodically fill.
