Texas DPS said drugs and a firearm were found in a suspect’s vehicle after a chase in Bell County.
BELL COUNTY, Texas — A person is in custody following a pursuit in Bell County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to Texas DPS, a Trooper tried to initiate a traffic stop on a 2010 Chevrolet for a traffic violation along Jasper Road around 12:32 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 22.
When the Trooper turned on their emergency lights, the driver of the vehicle reportedly fled west on Jasper Road.
As the vehicle approached the intersection of SH 195 and Jasper Road, DPS said it hit another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 35-year-old Eurin Eaddy Harris Jr. of Killeen, then got out of the vehicle and ran on foot, DPS said.
The department said Harris was caught “a short distance away”. Drugs and a firearm were found in Harris’ vehicle, according to DPS.
Harris was reportedly taken to the Bell County Jail.
