SHEFFIELD LAKE, Ohio (WOIO) – Police said an 18-year-old Lorain man is in custody and several other suspects are on the loose after shots were fired early Thursday morning.

Sheffield Lake Police Chief Andrew Kory said Officer Antonio Baez was on patrol near Harris Road around 2 a.m. when he heard the gunshots.

Officer Baez headed towards there area and saw a vehicle with multiple occupants acting suspiciously.

The driver of the vehicle then “abruptly” pulled into an apartment complex on Lake Breeze Road and several passengers fled on foot, said Chief Kory.

The diver, Exzavier Carrion, was taken into custody and several firearms found inside the vehicle were zeized.

Carrion is charged with multiple felony offenses and additional charges will be forwarded to the Sheffield Lake Prosecutor for review.
