An investigation is underway after one person was found dead Tuesday morning in Canadian County, according to police.
The Canadian County Sheriff’s Office says the body was found along a road near Cedar Lake, located several miles east of Hinton.
Canadian County Sheriff Chris West said a passerby found the body overnight and called police. West says deputies have been in the area investigating since locating the body.
Currently, West says the situation is being investigated as an unattended death.
West says the man has been identified but his name will not be released until next of kin has been notified.
The Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has also arrived at the scene.
